about
I'm Jacek Becela. I've been programming for most of my life and spent a large part of it building Trixbrix — a company that manufactures physical products.
I like software, machines, production, old computers, AI, and understanding how things work. This site is where I put the things I make and the things I find out along the way.

Born in 1980. Husband and father of two boys.

Some patches of mine that landed in other people's projects:
- 2008Rails — render shorthands for namespaced controllers, consistent plugin initialization, fixtures from arbitrary paths
- 2010Node.js — fix fs.readFile encoding handling
- 2010formidable — stop the multipart parser at the last boundary
- 2011Backbone.js — guard against a missing model, failing test first
- 2012Sidekiq — keep the scheduler alive through Redis connection errors
- 2025Omarchy — one keybinding for the top bar toggle
The gap in the middle is when the train tracks factory happened.
